Samsung has quietly begun rolling out the second beta version of its upcoming One UI 8 software for the Galaxy S25 lineup, with users in India, South Korea, the UK, Germany, and Poland reporting access to the update. Based on Android 16, the new build is being pushed out to Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users enrolled in the beta program.
The update, clocking in at roughly 1.2GB, appears to focus mostly on refining the user experience. While there’s no flashy redesign, it includes a number of subtle but useful tweaks and bug fixes. One notable addition is a new feedback feature designed to enhance interpreter performance a small change that could make a difference for frequent users of live translation tools.
According to posts from users on Samsung's community forums and social platforms like X (formerly Twitter), the beta 2 build carries firmware versions like S938NKSU4ZYF3 or S938NOKR4ZYF3, depending on the region. The update seems to be rolling out in waves, so not everyone may see it right away.
A closer look at the changelog reveals fixes for several annoyances, including misaligned text in the “Now” section, inconsistencies in widget sizing on the lock screen, and problems with fingerprint recognition. The beta also addresses an issue where the Air Command icon would vanish when the S Pen was removed a frustrating glitch for stylus users.
Beyond bug squashing, Samsung has fine-tuned a few visual and functional elements. The battery widget icon gets a slight refresh, and a pesky bug that caused low volume during Bluetooth calls in cars has reportedly been resolved. Other fixes target notification sounds in gaming mode, alarm glitches, and wallpaper issues related to weather and time themes. The Camera app is also getting some behind-the-scenes polish.
Those interested in trying out the new software can join the beta through the Samsung Members app, provided they’re in one of the supported countries. After signing in with a Samsung account, users should see a banner for the beta program. Once enrolled, the update can be downloaded via Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
For now, it’s still early days for One UI 8, but Samsung seems to be listening closely to user feedback which might be a good sign of what’s to come in the final release.
