Vivo Launches Y300c in China with 12GB RAM and Massive Battery—Foldable Model Also on the Way

Vivo has quietly rolled out its latest mid-range smartphone—the Vivo Y300c—targeted at users looking for a feature-packed device without burning a hole in their pocket. Launched initially in China, the phone is priced at around $195, which roughly converts to ₹16,700 in India. Despite the modest price tag, the Y300c brings some surprisingly premium features to the table.

Let’s start with the display. You’re getting a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with a crisp resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels. The screen supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and for gamers or heavy touch users, the touch sampling rate can spike up to 300Hz—pretty handy in high-intensity moments.

Under the hood, the Y300c is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset and is available with up to 12GB of RAM and a hefty 512GB of internal storage. That’s more than enough for multitasking, gaming, or just hoarding apps and media.

Photography-wise, the rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots with that soft background blur. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera that seems adequate for everyday use, though not exactly groundbreaking.

Battery life is another area where Vivo is going big—literally. The Y300c packs a 6500mAh battery, which should comfortably last well beyond a day on moderate use. It supports 44W fast charging and, interestingly, also offers reverse charging. That means you can juice up your wireless earbuds or another device on the go—convenient if you're the type who always forgets to charge accessories.

Meanwhile, Vivo isn’t stopping here. The company is gearing up to unveil its foldable model—the Vivo X Fold 5—later this month. This one’s expected to feature a massive 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED foldable display, along with a 6.53-inch LTPO outer screen. The phone will include dual 32MP selfie cameras and a solid 6000mAh battery with 90W fast charging.

So, while the Y300c caters to practical users, the X Fold 5 looks like it’s aimed at the power-hungry tech crowd. Either way, Vivo seems to be covering both ends of the market this season.

Nothing Phone 3 Set for July 1 Launch, Major Design Shift Sparks Buzz

The next chapter in Nothing’s smartphone journey is almost here. The London-based tech company, led by Carl Pei, has announced that the Nothing Phone 3 will officially launch on July 1 in India and other global markets. And while the official debut is still a few weeks away, a fresh teaser has already stirred up conversation — and controversy — among fans. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the company offered a sneak peek at the Phone 3's rear design with the phrase “ultra-precise engineering.” The teaser shows a partial view of the back panel — featuring a new dual-tone finish and some distinct etchings. But here’s the real shocker: the iconic Glyph interface is gone. Yes, you read that right. Nothing is moving away from the glowing LED pattern that made its phones instantly recognizable. This design change has caught many off guard, considering the Glyph lights had become a signature feature since the brand’s debut. For those unfamiliar, the Glyph interface was more than ...

Vivo Prepping Sleek New Y-Series Phone for India, May Feature Curved AMOLED Display Under ₹15,000

After rolling out the Vivo Y19 5G in India just last month, the company seems to be quietly working on another addition to its Y-series lineup. While the official name hasn’t been confirmed yet, early leaks hint at a new budget-friendly phone that could make a splash—especially with a curved AMOLED display, a feature that’s still pretty rare in this price range. According to a report from 91mobiles, which cites unnamed industry insiders, Vivo is planning to introduce a new Y-series smartphone that may claim the title of the slimmest device with a 3D curved AMOLED screen under ₹15,000. If that turns out to be true, it’s a bold move that could give the brand an edge in India’s increasingly competitive mid-range segment. A few design details have started to emerge. The phone is rumored to come in three colours: festive gold, freestyle white, and nebula purple. The freestyle white version, interestingly, might sport a distinctive rear panel pattern. The device is also tipped to be just 7.4...
