Tecno Unveils POVA 7 Series with AI-Powered Features and Bold Gaming Focus
Tecno has just taken the wraps off its latest POVA 7 series, and it's clear the brand is doubling down on gamers. The new lineup includes five smartphones: POVA 7 Ultra 5G, POVA 7 Pro 5G, POVA 7 5G, POVA Curve 5G, and a 4G-only variant, the POVA 7. Sitting at the top of the range is the POVA 7 Ultra 5G, a device that’s designed to handle intensive gaming sessions without breaking a sweat.

One of the standout features across the lineup is the generous battery capacity. The POVA 7 Ultra 5G packs a massive 6000mAh battery, paired with 70W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging—a combo that’s rarely seen at this price point. Tecno is clearly taking a bold swing here, especially with wireless charging support across its other 5G models as well.
Design-wise, the phones sport what Tecno calls an “Interstellar Spacelip” look. That translates into a mix of triangular patterns, clean lines, and a sleek, minimal feel. Meanwhile, the POVA Curve 5G breaks new ground for the brand as its first phone with a curved display—a move that’s likely to appeal to both gamers and visual media enthusiasts.
Under the hood, the POVA 7 Ultra 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate AI chipset, paired with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and an impressive 4500 nits peak brightness. For gamers, Tecno promises smooth 120FPS gameplay on titles like PUBG, thanks to a 12-layer cooling system and a sizable 5300mm² vapor chamber to keep things from overheating.
The series ships with HiOS 15, Tecno’s latest custom Android skin. It offers a more personalized experience with customizable themes, icons, and wallpapers—and refreshingly, it skips the usual bloatware. A Mini-LED status light is also included for real-time notifications.
On the software side, AI plays a starring role. The series introduces the AI Anywhere Portal, featuring “Ask Ella,” a smart assistant capable of handling tasks like summaries, schedules, and visual queries. Other AI tricks include real-time translation, noise cancellation during calls, and an AI writing assistant for proofreading and content creation. There's also a smart search feature that recognizes objects in images, and an upgraded AI Studio tool for photo editing.
Tecno hasn’t revealed pricing yet, but global availability is slated for June 2025. In India, the POVA Curve 5G is already on shelves, while the rest of the series is set to roll out across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, and parts of Latin America.
