Oppo K13x 5G Launches in India with Rugged Build and Budget Price Tag
Oppo has just rolled out its latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone in India — the Oppo K13x 5G. Touted by the company as their toughest 5G phone yet, this new release is essentially a slightly reworked version of the Oppo K13 5G that launched earlier in April. Priced under ₹15,000, the K13x comes with a surprisingly solid spec sheet, especially for a phone in this segment.
Let’s break it down.
Price and Availability
The Oppo K13x 5G will be available in three variants:
-
4GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹11,999
-
6GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹12,999
-
8GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹14,999
Sales begin on June 27, and the device will be up for grabs on Flipkart and the Oppo e-store. It comes in two colour options — Midnight Violet and Sunset Peach, both with a soft matte finish.
As part of the launch offer, Oppo is giving up to ₹2,000 instant discount on select bank cards, plus exchange bonuses and a no-cost EMI option for three months. A pretty tempting deal if you’re looking to upgrade without breaking the bank.
Built to Withstand the Bumps
Now here’s where the phone stands out — Oppo says the K13x meets MIL-STD-810H military standards and even features SGS Gold Drop certification. That means it’s designed to survive drops and dings that might leave other phones in pieces. It uses an aerospace-grade AM04 aluminum alloy frame, topped off with Crystal Shield Glass — a combination that’s not very common in this price range.
Display and Performance
You’re looking at a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1000 nits brightness. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, which adds another layer of durability.
Under the hood, the device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with Android 15-based ColorOS 15.1. It’s not a flagship processor, but it should handle everyday tasks and moderate gaming just fine.
Battery and Camera
Powering everything is a chunky 6000mAh battery that supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. You’ll probably get more than a full day of usage on a single charge.
As for the cameras, the phone sports a 50MP main rear sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera, which seems modest, but should do the job for video calls and casual snaps.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, dual SIM support, and of course, 5G connectivity.
Final Thoughts? For under ₹15,000, this is shaping up to be a pretty sturdy all-rounder — especially for anyone prone to the occasional phone drop. Whether it becomes a bestseller or not, Oppo’s clearly betting on durability as a differentiator this time.
