Finding EV Charging Stations Just Got Easier—Here’s How to Use Google Maps for It

If you're someone who drives an electric vehicle, you probably already know how critical it is to find a charging station when you're on the road. No one wants to be stuck halfway through a trip with a dwindling battery and no charger in sight.

EV Charging Stations

The good news? Google Maps makes this a whole lot simpler. With just a few taps, you can locate the nearest EV charging points around you. It’s not rocket science—but it’s definitely helpful.

Step One: Open the Google Maps App

Sounds obvious, but yes—start by opening the Google Maps app on your phone. Don’t have it yet? You can grab it for free from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Step Two: Search for EV Charging Stations

Type “EV charging station” into the search bar at the top. You can enter it in Hindi or English—Google understands both just fine. Hit search, and you’re on your way.

Step Three: Explore What’s Nearby

Almost instantly, Maps will show you a list—and a visual map—of charging stations close to your current location. It’s pretty handy, especially when you're in a new city or on a long drive.

Use Filters to Narrow It Down

Now, if you’re a bit picky (and honestly, why not?), you can use filters. For instance, you can check which stations are open right now, what type of charger they offer (like CCS, Type 2, or CHAdeMO), or whether charging is free. The app displays useful info like:

Station name

User ratings and reviews

Charging speed (fast or standard)

Which network it belongs to—like Tata Power, Ather Grid, or Statiq

Get Directions in One Tap

Once you’ve picked a station, just tap on ‘Directions’ and then ‘Start’ to begin navigation. Simple as that.

Planning a Longer Trip? Here’s a Bonus Tip

If you’re heading out on a longer route, you can plug in your destination first, then tap on “Add charging stops.” Google Maps will automatically suggest charging points along the way, saving you from any last-minute surprises.

So yeah, while running out of charge used to be a worry, it’s not anymore—not with this tool in your pocket.

The next chapter in Nothing’s smartphone journey is almost here. The London-based tech company, led by Carl Pei, has announced that the Nothing Phone 3 will officially launch on July 1 in India and other global markets. And while the official debut is still a few weeks away, a fresh teaser has already stirred up conversation — and controversy — among fans. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the company offered a sneak peek at the Phone 3's rear design with the phrase “ultra-precise engineering.” The teaser shows a partial view of the back panel — featuring a new dual-tone finish and some distinct etchings. But here’s the real shocker: the iconic Glyph interface is gone. Yes, you read that right. Nothing is moving away from the glowing LED pattern that made its phones instantly recognizable. This design change has caught many off guard, considering the Glyph lights had become a signature feature since the brand’s debut. For those unfamiliar, the Glyph interface was more than ...

According to a report from 91mobiles, which cites unnamed industry insiders, Vivo is planning to introduce a new Y-series smartphone that may claim the title of the slimmest device with a 3D curved AMOLED screen under ₹15,000. If that turns out to be true, it’s a bold move that could give the brand an edge in India’s increasingly competitive mid-range segment. A few design details have started to emerge. The phone is rumored to come in three colours: festive gold, freestyle white, and nebula purple. The freestyle white version, interestingly, might sport a distinctive rear panel pattern. The device is also tipped to be just 7.4...
